Cybersecurity, An Organized And Adaptable Approach
Monday 2:00 pm-5:30pmTrainer: Shane Turner, Manager System EngineeringDescription: Public Safety agencies work in highly integrated environments as agencies and organizations are closely linked together to provide seamless support across all areas of public safety. It is the same for Land Mobile radio networks. LMR networks are interconnected information systems with devices and applications providing critical voice and data in a highly ‘joint’ world. In this highly connected world, privacy and security are paramount. How do you start? How do you guide your cybersecurity activities to manage this increasing security risk? How do you harden your system to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of your information. Take-away: Key takeaways from this session:• The NIST ‘Cybersecurity Framework’ is one path to help prevent a “hit or miss” approach to protecting your system and privacy.• Cyber threats are mutable and increasingly sophisticated, and this demands that you establish and constantly evaluating the controls you deploy in your system.• Chose suppliers who develop products using a secure development lifecycle.
ISSI Gateway
Trainer: Robert Canody, L3Harris Technical Trainer Course Description: This training session will provide an overview of how to configure the Inter-RF Subsystem Interface (ISSI) using the Unified Administration System (UAS). Course topics include configuring the UAS for local and foreign ISSI gateways, creating an ISSI Region, establishing System Assigned ID (SAID) ranges for foreign talk groups and users, determining shared users and talk groups available to foreign systems, and creating foreign user permission templates. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:• Describe the P25 Standard ISSI Functions and system terminology • Describe the requirements for implementation of the ISSI Gateway • Describe the L3Harris ISSI Gateway Capabilities• Draw a basic diagram of the ISSI gateway interconnections and major components• Discuss the ISSI configuration options and how interoperability is accomplished• Explain local and foreign radio registration process• Describe the Call process for a Radio User Roaming from RFSS 1 to RFSS 2 (and RFSS 2 to RFSS 1) for Wide Area calling on two different P25 networks• Describe the steps required to configure the ISSI using the Unified Administration System (UAS)o Configure the ISSI Gateway for Voice End User Propertieso Create and Configure for Foreign Talk Groupso Create and Configure for Foreign End Userso Configure Talk Groups and Voice End Users for Roamingo Establish a SAID range for foreign Talkgroups and Userso Create an ISSI region, within the UAS, for home users that may roam to other systems.o Describe the administrative tools the ISSI provides and how they are accessed.
Radio Programming with RPM 2
This a 2-day (Thu/Fri 8:30am-4:30pm) hands-on workshopTrainer: Lewis Padgett, L3Harris Technical TrainerCourse Description: This training will focus on how to create a radio personality for XL model radios. We will discuss the required sets needed to create P25 Trunked, P25 Conventional and BeOn radio systems in Radio Personality Manager 2. We will also explore the different options that are available in programming to include Voice Annunciation, User Profiles and LTE network configurations to ensure you and your users get the most out your investment. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:• Describe the basic process for creating a new P25 trunked radio personality in RPM2.• Identify which sets are required to create P25 trunked, P25 Conventional radio systems and which sets are optional.• Recognize the different options that are programmable for XL model radios.• Configure an XL radio to communicate on FirstNet or a commercial LTE network using BeOn.• Describe the process to add Voice Annunciation and User Profiles to a radio personality.
